This project is yet another tabletop experiment. I placed a glass bowl onto a glass plate. Then, I filled the bowl with water and put some drops of oil into the water. I used a flashlight and colored paper sheets to lighten the plate from behind.  A lot of postprocessing was necessary to remove dirt and some of the oil spots.
